On May 24, 2017 bilateral talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, E.B. Abdyldaeva with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The foreign ministers of the two countries discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, international issues, cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of security, as well as issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Atambaev to the United Arab Emirates in December 2014.
They noted with satisfaction the increased dynamics of bilateral relations that began after the opening of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United Arab Emirates in 2016 and on the basis of mutual visits at the level of the sectoral departments of the two countries.
The parties expressed their interest in implementing joint economic projects, especially in such areas as energy, tourism, processing industry and agriculture.
With a view to boosting trade and economic relations and expanding investment cooperation between the two countries, the sides noted the importance and timeliness of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Kyrgyz Republic with a business forum involving business communities of the two countries.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE noted the importance of holding a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirate Commission on Economic Cooperation in the near future.
The prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of ensuring security were discussed, as well as an exchange of views on the implementation of national projects aimed at improving the level and quality of providing public services to the population. The sides expressed interest in organizing mutual visits between representatives of law enforcement agencies and experts of the two countries to exchange practical experience and provide methodological assistance in the implementation of national projects, including the Taza-Coom project.
In order to further intensify contacts between the two countries, the Parties attached great importance to the participation of the parties in such important events as the World Global Summit on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard and its Ecosystems (August 25, 2017 in Bishkek) and the prestigious Dubai International Expo-2020.
Following the talks, the foreign ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE for political consultations.
